Fred Fontane
Fred DrummingFred’s first approach to music was by learning the violin at the age of six before moving onto the guitar and the drums. Born in 1979, he studied music and sound engineering in Paris at the Superior Institute of Engineering, the National School of Music and the Didier Lockwood’s Music Centre. He then made his move to London where he successfully completed a diploma at the Drumtech (Tech Music School).
Along the years, Fred has worked with a wide range of artists and bands. He has played, recorded and produced music in genres ranging from metal to soul through to reggae and classical music. He has also been performing as a drummer and guitar player with a variety of original and cover bands and has been providing drum lessons both privately and in schools for the past 10 years. At the same time, he has been working as a freelance sound engineer in live and studio situations and has composed and arranged soundtracks and sound design for short films, adverts and documentaries.
Since 2009, Fred has been running The Boogie Trap Studio as his main project and is the in house sound engineer and music producer of the studio. He also gives one to one drum tuitions and teaches music technology and recording techniques at the premises.
While keeping himself busy playing with and recording for various artists and musical acts, Fred started two new projects in 2012, The Boogie Drum School and Boogie Grooves.
